宗旨为人类文化遗产保护提供美术学院的智慧和力量。主要工作有系统梳理和研究国内外文化遗产基础理论；探寻和建构有美术学院特色的文化遗产教学体系；参与文化遗产保护策略和管理规范的制订；发挥美术学院的学科特长，致力于文化遗产的应用和开发工作；展开充分的调研，进行文化遗产的资料库建设等。

Objectives:The main tasks of this centre are to study and systematise the basic theories on cultural relics;to explore and establish the educational system of cultural relics in an art school;and to participate in the reification of the tactics and norms so as to protect and manage cultural relics.
