Talking from a foreing student point of view, there are always some misunderstandings, disconnections and incomprehension while we are studying here in China. We need to deal with language bariers, culture baries, even bariers in our own minds, just trying to follow a vague intention to get envolve.
This series of art talks is dedicated to remove those disconnections and create new meanings. Chinese and foreigner young artists will talk about their art and share their experiences. And isn’t it important to have a chance to speak with them direcly, ask questions, discuss and dispute.
Talks with various artists whose art are so different from each other would weave a beautiful pattern in its harmonic diversity. We hope these talks will bring to us inspiration, desire to create and share.
和而不同——不仅具有时间性，更具有空间性。这是一种多重的动态叠合状态。这个词也是回答了“自我艺术”与“他者艺术”的关系。这是孔子所意味的跨文化认同方式。自我——本身就不是一个固定的结构。罗永生说，“所谓自我并非一个既予的自我，而是包含着内部分裂和多重性可能的自我。”这个“自我”如同“自我艺术”一般，需要和“他者艺术”不断地发生连结。日本思想家竹内好认为，恰恰是为了接近“他者”，才必须改造自我。这也是鲁迅所做的迂回的努力和挣扎的斗争。这也是德勒兹在《差异与重复》中强调的艺术的重复与再生……
最后，我和Zhanna想把这个系列特别送给即将毕业和刚刚毕业的同道中人。这是一系列的艺术联谊会。在这个系列的演讲和对谈中，每组青年艺术家都会在此地分享自己的艺术作品以及走出校园后的艺术和社会、艺术和市场相碰撞的境遇。我们在此相照面。
